Boxing’s ageless wonder is set to
astound us again on Saturday night from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City,
N.J. At 48 years old, Bernard Hopkins
(53-6-2, 32 KO) will defend his IBF light heavyweight title against
Karo Murat (25-1-1, 15 KO). Even if he loses, the fact that Hopkins is
still competing at this level of the sport pushing 50 is remarkable
He is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Tavoris Cloud in
March to capture the title. Hopkins looked as good as he has in years.
While some may be expecting to see Hopkins fall off, he showed no signs
of slowing down against Cloud.
Murat is a 30-year-old veteran from Iraq, who is based in Germany. This will be his first fight in the United States. He has been in the ring with the likes of Gabriel Campillo and Nathan Cleverly, but Hopkins represents a step up in competition and name recognition.
Can Hopkins continue his historic run? Here’s you can watch live.
